Mixed Media Artist

I have always been creative and have applied my creativity to building businesses, professional cooking and art. I am a self-taught artist with a full-time focus on my art practice. My work has been featured on CBS News in San Diego, Marin Magazine and in the Marin IJ. See press page.

When I am not in the studio painting, I consult for my former business, Parties That Cook which inspires connection through group cooking. I also contribute recipes bi-monthly to the San Jose Mercury News Food Section. I am an avid gardener and my garden, home and art are featured on Houzz and Houzz TV. I hold a Masters in Intuition Medicine from the Academy of Intuition Medicine and use these skills to create art that brings joy and life to homes, healthcare facilities and corporations such as hotels and restaurants.

Artist Statement

I create art to connect with my true essence.  It cuts through the societal programming, expressing itself through me in a joyful way. It allows me to let go of control and surrender to the painting.  As a recovering perfectionist I choose to work in mixed media using collage and acrylic because it’s forgiving. I love bold colors, geometric shapes and text which come alive with whimsy on wood panels and paper. I am happiest when I am drawing outside the lines on the canvas and in life.

My work is inspired by my personal growth and transition over the last few years.  During this period, I realized that the only limits we face are self-imposed. As we release the limiting beliefs, we open to infinite possibilities. Each piece is an expression of a feeling I am experiencing, an aspect of growth I am facing, or a question I am contemplating during the time I create it.

My work was recently chosen for the DeYoung Museum Open at the DeYoung. It is available through my studio or SFMOMA Artists Gallery in Fort Mason, Sloan Miyasato at the SF Design Center located at 2 Henry Adams Street #300, through Slate Contemporary in Oakland and Simon Breitbard Fine Arts. Book your private appointment today or your remote Zoom studio tour at your convenience!
